Scriptomatic 2.0 - a Tool to Learn about the WMI interface
Scriptomatic 2.0 is a magic program, which can actually write
your WMI scripts. It will almost never make a syntax error, and will guide into new scripting areas. Here in Scriptomatic version 2, is the ultimate for collecting
information about the operating system processes and object classes. Compared with version 1, the big improvement is in the Output Format(s). If there is a problem, it's because the output will swamp

Once you have your free downloaded of Scriptomatic 2.0, you are ready to discover more about WMI in general and root\CIM2.0 in particular. Your
choice of objects to interrogate is revealed by the drop down menu under WMI Class. Once you have made your selection, observe the WMI / VBScript code and just click on the Run button.

- Double Click the Scriptomatic2.0.hta
- Once the file opens, leave the WMI Namespace as Root\CIM2.0
- Select a WMI Class, for example Win32_BIOS
- Check the Output Format (Lower Right), for example HTML
- Click on Run (Top Left)
Output Format. The big improvement in version 2 of Scriptomatic comes in the choice of output. While the screen shot show the radio button
on Command Prompt, I prefer HTML to display the data. For those occasions when you need a script, click on the Save button under WMI Class. Constants are entered automatically.
Normally I find it very difficult to manually set a constant's hex / decimal numbers correctly, Scriptomatic is right every time. Target Computer (comma-delimited). If you fill in
several computers separated by commas, observe how Scriptomatic employs the array method. What I am
thinking is once you have perfected the script for the local machine, you can easily amend the script to run on tens of different machines by entering their names in the Target Computer (comma-delimited)
Box. WMI Namespace. Normally I stick with Root\CIM2.0, however you could experiment with: Microsoft IIS, LDAP or MSAPPS11.
